Daniel Acevedo: “I am a Mexican artist who uses photography as a means of self-expression, allowing images to speak for me. My work focuses on portraying people, blending deep conversations with my subjects to translate their ideas into visual narratives. These narratives explore themes of personal heritage, a desire to connect with the world, and transgender resilience. Identity—both my own and that of others—lies at the core of my practice, with emotions serving as a powerful source of inspiration.

Photography, to me, is a controlled process where every decision shapes the final image. From selecting the subject to composing the scene, each choice is intentional. While I primarily work with digital photography, I choose the medium based on the story I want to tell. Growing up in an artistic environment surrounded by mariachis and being a musician for over a decade, I see rhythm and emotion as subtle yet powerful forces in my work.”
